In Defense of the Shotgun

I have always loved the shotgun. It was my favorite weapon in Doom. In Quake it was too toned down; in CS it is fine. And in MOH it is the best.

I love the sound. I love the fookin awesome impact as it spews my enemy's viscera into the air. I cringe when, in the hands of an opponent, it blows my small brain pan apart.

I love sneaking up on a sniper who is carefully aiming out the window. I like to sit there, with my muzzle against his helmet, till he senses something is wrong, starts to turn, BLAM!!

The Shotgun is clearly a MAN'S WEAPON. Not like those other sissy weapons. Sissy weapons go 'ratatatat' like the sissy machine guns. MANLY WEAPONS go BOOM.

yeah, screw the STG-44 or the BAR. those weapons are for kids and old ladies. shotgun is teh best! shotgun is a man's weapon!

there is nothing much more wrong with teh sgt44 than the shotgun...

SgT44 is a good weapon also..

Do not mock the Mauser. It stayed in service with the German army from 1898 to 1945 for a reason

Why quake the shotty sucked in quake but it rules in MoH.

heh yeh sort of agree with you, im more from the school off using the right weapon for the right map, so on stalingrad youll see me with a shotty, on the rare occasion a thompson sometimes, otherwise on the hunt its the thompson definitely

Didn't you see the classic WWII movie 'Das Hunt'? The opening scene shows a couple dozen U.S. troops armed with shotguns running into a small bombed-out French village held by Germans. They run willy-nilly into town, half get killed before even seeing a German soldier, then the rest blast away in a frenzied panic until just one soldier is left. Then it repeats over and over for the rest of the film. Oh, wait... I'm getting confused. That's Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. LOL!

I think the shotgun is the stupidest gun in the whole game. What's the point to it? Why not make an M1 Carabine or some German weapon that was actually in WWII? Nobody wanted the stupid shotgun. People wanted the Mg42, the M1 C. and many other guns, but no they have to make a weapon that no has even known to be in a WWII battlefield. The only reason I see the shotgun to be added into the game is because EA are sellouts and they have to have the stupid shotgun because other games have it too. Also, why the hell do the Axis and the Allies get the same type shotgun?

I agree with Spooge 100%.

I don't really dislike the shotgun, as it will be balanced when we get to play the big maps, but certainly, why put in a shotgun when they could have included the M1 Carbine or Sten or whatever.

The shotgun WAS used by the Allies in Europe. See my post above. But seriously, it was. Look it up. Do a search for it in this forum.

I personally would rather have prone, than some stupid ass shotgun. The shotgun was a waste of the developer's time.
