SS divisions are the Nazis

There was an article last week in the NY Times about the Nazi symbols and SS units being used in Wolfenstien, and how it is bound to happen in a WWII sim.

I just feel that people like to play the bad guy, just like when kids played cowboys and indians back when it was commonly believed that Indians were Godless heathen savages who raped and pillaged, and I am sure kids liked being the Spanish or French when playing war back when England was locked in deadly conflicts that including burning each other at the stake because of one's religious beliefs.

The idea that only the S.S. did bad things in WWII Europe is fantasy. Executions of civilians, and sometimes whole villages where massacred to the last child, in retaliation for sabotage and resistance activities were very common and it was not only the S.S. who did such things. Likewise there were plenty of Americans and their allies raping and pillaging civilians and murdering unarmed prisoners. But that happens in all wars. The major difference between the Allies and their enemies is that the Germans and Japanese did such things as a matter of policy, as a way of crushing resistance, as a way of conquering other societies. The Soviets actually had little or no mercy for the German civilians either, but on the whole the idea that Germany was going to rule Europe for a thousand years and could do what ever they wanted was prevalent throughout most of the population. There has been a lot of memory loss about that since 1945.

Not every conscript or even volunteer fighting for the Fatherland was an official Nazi or racist. But a lot of otherwise civilized human beings will do, and have done, the most unspeakable things in times of war, when trained to give up their former sense of self for unthinking discipline and the following of orders. Especially when you are 19 and caught up in the patriotic fervor of your country “right our wrong”, and the idea that you are doing God’s will by killing all those who oppose you. There simply were not enough S.S. to go around to be responsible for all of the atrocities.

I do not mind the S.S. units on here. I think everyone knows they represent the elite “green berets” of the German army and not the ideology behind them.

Seriously, if everyone was so afraid to stand up to the Nazis for the Jews because the Nazis would have just wasted them, then why should the Nazis be afraid of some communists?

No threat?HAHA Stalin attacked Finland eastern Poland and the balticts states 1939 that's why many joined the 5th SS Panzer Division Wiking. Stalin was no better than Hitler he murderd as much people as Hitler. The difference was that it wasnt concentrated on etnic.

During World War 2 the ones who did all the rounding up of people (like Jews, metally handicapped, gypsies etc) and sending them into death camps were the fucking SS.
I cant believe people would name their clans after SS divisions and placing images portraying them as real cool people. (I dont mind normal German forces, Wehrmacht or Panzer divisions)

Are you actually saying that the Soviet army studd a chance against the German army in 1941? The Soviets lost in Finland. Stalin murdered and removed most of the officers out of the army so the whole structure was lacking leadership.

u see its the actually ss who are doing the atrosities, these clans are mostly waffen ss (armed ss) and most of the waffen ss, besides the oberkommand knew about the holocaust. in fact most of the german people didn't know about these camps til the liberation of germany and poland

the killing of handikapped & mentally ill was done by doctors & nurses under orders also Wehrmacht units were also ordered to shoot "enemys of the Reich" and another point there were SS Panzer divisions and Waffen SS units wre not all "Germans"-many nations had SS divisions to fight for Germany many were Norwegians,Danes,Walloons,Flemish,Dutch,French,Spa nish,Balkan & Baltic states,and even a British SS division.

Not only were the Russians a threat, they believed that they could have defeated the Germans without the help of the Americans. Although only 1 in 3 Russian soldier was issued a rifle, they had many, many soldiers and armor, were very commited to the to the war, and showed no signs of giving up.

Germans did not attack the Soviets because they were threatened. They attacked because of lebensraum. If the Soviets attacked they would have walked into a deathtrap. Also the number theory is a bunch of crap, it failed in Finland.
