skinning problems

ok heres whats going on...
1 I opened pakscape
2 i extracted the textures folder from pak2 into a folder i made on my desk top.
3.opened textured folder and deleted everything but the models folder in the texture folder.
4. opened models deleted everything but the weapons folder
5 opened weapons folder deleted everything but colt 45
6. in the colt45 folder i deleted everything but the two .tga files
7 edited both tga's saved in my folder.
8 opened pakscape hit file > new and dragged the folder from my desktop into the new pakscape document.
9 clicked file > save as in pakscape saved as user-testcolt and saved as a .pk3 put it in my main still dont work got an idea what i did wrong?

winzip much easier, ummm lol with winzip you can select certain files to extract, dunno about pak

i have winzip but am stupid with it and dont know what to do with it so i use pakscape
