Is there a way to take out the anti-landsharking provision in Counter Intel?
Its not for landsharking, its for my clan. Many of us use "E" to grab onto ladders. Just Curious. Is it as easy as deleting a like in the server config?

Hmmm...now that I think about it, dont flame me b/c this might be on MOHAdmin... eek:

Why the hell would you hit the E key when climbing a ladder? Oh yeah to cheat. Tell them not to do it.

Its not a cheat. You jump off the top of the ladder and hit ur use key before u hit the ground so you dont take any damage from the jump.

I do this on V2 when I want to get down from the catwalks fast.

At the bottom: Repeatidly press the use key as you near a ladder, you will grab on faster than holding the forward key.

At the bottom: Run up to ladder but jump be for you get there, press use in mid jump, you just skimmed a half second off of your climb time.

top of the ladder: Jump off but face the ladder, when you are close to the ground, press the use key, then jump off, if you are close enough to the ground the fall will not hurt you.

I'm far from a noob. Hitting the E key and jumping off the ladder can get you under the map. If you do this on our server you die. I know you use the E key for other functions moron.

It's a mod we leave in because there are so many other reasons to babysit all the crybabies and cheaters thats it just one less thing to worry about. I personally have never used the E key to climb a ladder, so I don't see the big deal. A couple of weeks ago we had this issue in a SG match. The other team started bitching about it but agreed to start the match with it. They got pissed with 4 min left in the 1st round (down 120-60) and all left the server. I guess if you learned to play the game doing this it could be a hard habit to break.

Clearly, but my question still stands. My clan does not need it to stop Landsharkers,skaters, or whatever we have admins on at all times(100+ members)
My question is, since we do not need the anti-landsharking mod(pressing USE as to touch a ladder), can it be taken out (easily)?

I really don't understand why it should matter why he wants it changed,it's his server,the reason he wants it changed is his own,he asked a simple question,instead of bringing up cheat issues just give him an answer.
anyway,do this and it will change it.go to MaMMapfix.cfg on your server,FTP the cfg to your desktop change the following lines like you see them here:

append mam_register_mod "global/MAM_mapfix.scr"

//mapfix 1 or 0
//mapfix turns on the special MAM_Mapfix options, this stops players on all the default and obj maps from
//using the USE key at all ladders, to get up a ladder otherwise you have to walk up to it, look up
//and press forward, also makes it so people cannot change teams while at a MG42 (this is a cheat)
//it also stops them from using the grenade prime trick at the MG 42 so that people cant crouch
//fire at MG42

seta mapfix "0"

then close and upload back to your server and restart.

I jump onto ladders all the time, just a habit. Why would I want to landshark anyways? 1-Its lame as hell 2-I'd get kicked right away anyways. hake:

Whats up buddy, long time no speak. We just go a new spearhead server, come check it out. Were modding it up. There's some sweet new mods out that make that game a lot better. Keep in touch.
