On Thursday, January 1st 1970, some things happened:
- "The Epoch" (Time 0 for UNIX systems, Midnight GMT)
- Afro-American Historical Calendar Series Established
- Revised calendar for Western (RC) Church goes into effect
- Neth Christian Workers Union (NCW) forms
- Charles "Chub" Feeney becomes president of baseball's National League - A lot of people became member of the AlliedAssault.com forum
What's with that date? Is it the birth date of aa.com's founder? If so, who is it? All the members who have been here since the beginning 'joined' on this date?
I also have seen one member who seems to have joined December 31st, 1969?
I suspected something like that. I don't think the internet even existed on January 1st, 1970, but why did he choose this particular date?
And, since this many people 'joined' in 1970, it must have happened on a date when already a lot of people were member?
But who is the person with the join-date of December 31st, 1969 then, or am I confused and does this person not exist (i.e. the date was part of an avatar/signature, instead of being displayed by the forum itself).
Couldn't find him in the database, was he part of the group (Strik0r and others), that was banned and deleted some time ago? At first I thought it was Badscript himself, but he's still around, it seems (moderator of 'Poll comments').
Well, we're members from 2001. A long time ago Badscript decided to fuck around with the database and now we have these ancient registry dates.
What he said. To add, BS said it could be fixed, but to track down all the people before that date who still post (about 2000) would be a bitch to change one by one.
