Default A real multiplayer map for all ya suckas! - 04-08-2003, 10:23 AM

Check it out! Its called "Vemork factory" and is loosely based on a real event in Norway 1943.

Not being skeptical, i'm just curious biggrin:

Nemas problemas, here is a short version from the readme file (Read the complete version and look at WWII pictures at http://www.planetmedalofhonor.com/rjukanproject/ ):

- This map is inspired by a real WW2 operation executed in february 1943 called Operation Gunnerside.
- Operation Gunnerside: 6 Norwegian elite soldiers in English uniforms parachuted over Hardangervidda, joined with the scouts, reached Våer, and approached the factory along the railroad tracks, an area that had no mines. While the rest kept guard, the demolitions team entered the heavy water plant and destroyed the heavy water cells. 900 kg of heavy water was lost (including production losses). Afterwards the scouts remained on the mountain, while the demolitions team went on skies into Sweden. He operation was executed to prevent the Nazis from winning the atomic bomb "race".

Youd never think there would be a hidden weapons cache in a school, but alas! We found it in Iraq. Nothing is impossible....

yeah that story behind it is true, though i dont knwo the name of the operation, lol, ironically my teacher just talked about that stuff today about the hard water plant, lol, without hard water you cant have atomic power, and with out the plant hitler scrapped the project for atomic power

Hmm Kempy... what is strange about a big workplace having a small reacreational area? If you want to look for strange things: download the map an check out how high the billiards tables are instead :-)

Actually Avalanchekid, better intelligence on the allied part, with more reliable information on how far the German atomic research had developed, could have made the "The Battle for Heavy Water" unnecessary. German plans of a nuclear powered bomb were abandoned in the summer of 1942. From that point, their goal was to produce a reactor ("Uran Maschine"), as a possible power source for submarines.

( But then I would not have made this map ;-) )

Yes, it is big... but you can complete all the objectives in shorter time than V2... people get lost at first because all areas are accessible ( no locked doors ).

I forgot to menton that Vemork factory 1.1 is now up and running in standard rotation on my clans public server "ToTAL[#2] MOHAA 1.11 [FFisON] - Dedicated" at 213.242.172.15:12203
Server rules: SG not allowed, FF=on, RL=disabled, watch your language, Admin=[FFisON] clanmembers.
Map rotation: obj/obj_team1 obj/obj_team2 obj/obj_team4 obj/vemork_facrory_small

All are very welcome!

( Be warned: there are many of the top european players that frequents this server, so dont start yelling cheator if you get sniped in the head in close combat  )
