*My Opinion*

I don't think those who complain about snipers, actually know what they are complaining about. I mean, its not sniping itself that is the problem, its the amount of snipers in a level. Sometimes it can be annoying, if you have 4 or 5 snipers, hiding in buildings, leaving you no place to go.

This can still be solved by a quick think, before you leave cover.
Just use stratergy against snipers. You'll find on maps like 'The Hunt', that you can quite easily out flank a sniper, and once you do that, he's all yours.

Most snipers are to bust scanning the battlefield, that they hardly ever check up whats going on right beside or behind them.

LOL, I've found several times, on 'The Hunt', that once you make your way to the end of the street, the axis end and you enter the building that faces down the street.(the one where all the axis snipers sit.) There are snipers that just sit, facing the road, they don't even notice you enter. Hell! You could just sit beside them for ages without them noticing! Its fun, to come up behind these guys, and plaster a couple of rounds into the back of their heads.

*/My Opinion*

To take another example from Aliens Versus Predators: In that game the host can choose how many of each weapon are available, even none. An experienced player would be able to ensure more balanced games.

all these "whoring" problems would easyily be solved if they just put a limiy on the weapons, simple as that, one sniper/shotty/rocket per team, two smg's per teams, and one lmg per team, that way rifles won't be so useless. ya know, why go with a unscoped mauser when u can use the scoped one

I can only laugh at the people that says you need to be skilled to use the sniper rifles. Theres no recoil(meaning you dont need to readjust your aim), theres no delay(meaning you hit what you aim at every time), and you can use the scope all the time, even when you're reloading...

Whether people complain about snipers, shotgun, grenades or whatever, no one has the right to claim they are easy to use until they have played the best players and beaten them with it themselves.

It's simple, really. Sniping in itself doesn't take a ton of skill. Then again nor does shooting someone with a shotgun at close range. Or lobbing a grenade into a spot where you know people will be to get kills.

But, what if you replace the target with the best players out there? It all becomes different then. Suddenly, there isn't anyone where you lobbed that grenade. Before you know it, no one gets close enough for your shotgun to be effective, and no one ever runs blindly across the road!

See? Easy to do now? Nuh uh.

Sitting in the snipers' house as an Axis and resolutely staying there until you get rushed will get you killed more often than not.

Easy to get the odd kill, but it's not exactly revolutionary, is it? Everyone does it.

Sniping on the move, though, is much more skillful. I've seen someone use the sniper like a shotgun, pretty much. Won't run in and get killed but can use it close up fairly profficiently. It's just a case of double-tapping to mouse keys.

He also knows when to retreat. The trick to the sniper rifle is to keep as much distance between you and the enemy at all times. Some players take this to extremes and just run back to the 88 and wait. The better ones will move back a little, take a shot, move back some more, take another shot and so on.

I tell you now, in my opinion, the smg and mgs don't take a ton of skill to use either. It's all about aiming and shooting at the target. The only skill in shooting these weapons is keeping the kick-back down. Newbies always open up entirely and complain when they don't kill.

The skill in any shooters game is to learn the strengths and weaknesses of your chosen gun and make them work for you.

How to move, where to be, where to expect the enemy, how the enemy work, when to wait, when to run, when to charge, how you charge-run-wait.... the list goes on.

When regular clan matches/leagues start to happen we will soon see who is the most skillful with the sniper rifles, shotgun and the rest. We will soon see that our 3 week assesments of the weapons we see as 'cheap' were wrong all along.

It all depends on you and the target, not the gun.

On public servers 75% of targets are easy meat for the other 25% right now. That will change.

By the way, any Axis side who has more than 25% snipers is easy to beat. Balance is the key.

Btw, Mauser is different than the sniper 'cos it's more accurate at range without having to put the scope up. Try aiming at a static target at mid-range with the sniper rifle without using the scope with a friend sometime.

It isn't that accurate unless you use the scope.

The Mauser is.

The Mauser is a lot harder to use for the player who isn't bothered to learn how to use it effectively.

I find sniping incredibly difficult. is it just me or do you have to aim just a little bit in front of a guy running across from you? Is it something to do with the time the bullet takes to gets there?

Sniping DOEs take skill, even if it does not shake at all. Even if the target is standing dead still, u still have to line up ur crosshair (and be pinpoint accuarte!).

Seriously, some ppl make sniping sound so easy.

I personally stick with the Mp44. Great gun to use in stalingrad cuz of all teh windows, and yea snipers aren't that hard to kill as long as u see them b4 they see u

Balanced game? Pain is right. Each element is a part of the game. If your too stupid to take cover when there is a sniper about then you deserve to get shot. I grow a big one for sniping.

Go ahead, run, i have at least 400 yards on you plus 5 30-06 friends who can run faster than you.
