[quote="Harlen Maguire":5d4a0]I'm in your same sortof position mate...

But I got Lessons many years ago, forgot it all...

Then dusted it off once and went, shit, Guitar... oOo:

If I were you I'd just get one of those "Learn Guitar for Beginners" books, with the CD's and just go from there...

Make sure it's got a big list of all the chords at the back, so you can look up your favourite songs on the net and play them!

At the moment "I Hear Joo Calling!" by Gob is on my playlist...

*Sniff* Brings back fond memories of Millah and Sloi...[/quote:5d4a0]

Sweet jesus, for the love of bandwidth, change that sig! It actually took time to load on my PC!

I tought myself to play by buying magazines with demo CDs on them and tabs to my favourite bands.

Of course then I wasn't online hehe.

Good luck with it, once you've gotten past the first few weeks of "God, my fingers hurt and I can't change from an F to a C without taking 3 minutes!" stage it's all really much easier than you'd imagine.

Although I never bothered to learn pents and scales, I'm mostly just a rythmn player. Pity I don't have time to learn it anymore.

Rock on, man. Learning to play guitar is kinda frustrating at first, but is very rewarding in the long run.

I don't have any other links that haven't been posted here. biggrin:

you can get an ibanex guitar for under 200 dollars i think you only need a small amp at the moment a 10-20 watt amp shud be enough that would cost about 50-100 dollars, just goto your local guitar shop and look around there, if you are playing heavy metal, or metal in general a good guitar would be a guitar with humbucker pick-ups, these pickups are just 2 pickups in one which makes it sound heavier and thicker, if you are playing rock n roll or the blues a squire stratocaster will be in the price range of 100-150 dollars which leaves you money left over, hoped this helped. also a good guitar site is http://www.wholenote.com .
