Who pistol whips the 101st AI when they get in your line of fire?

I tend to be doing this a frighteningly lot lately, one day im going to kill one of them.

I shoot them and nothin happens.

Sometimes I shoot my captain like hell, I use everything from Thompson to Bazooka and he still dosent die.

I have shot the hell outta them too....ESPECIALLY if I am manning a MG-42...and they run in amongst the enemy AI...I just keep on firing......
