When I first discovered the Return to Castle Wolfenstien demo I was pretty psyched. More fun than any rubber band fight I ever had!
Then I heard about MOH, which I prefer becuase I am not interested in shooting zombies, etc. But when I looked it up on the web what reviews I could find of MOHAA they said that they were all dissapointed because it was not really an advance, just that this time it was bombed out France and M-1s rather than that James Bond-like game or Quake. But frankly I have been very impressed with the landscapes and the walls, etc. at least from how they look on my roommate's PC. On mine everything is blury.
I have never really played other shooters, as WWII is more why I like MOH not becuase it is a shooter. I also do not play many other games, but can see playing MOHAA for a long time!
So, here are my two questions:
1) Do you guys like MOH better than other shooters and if so why?
2) Even though I have done the Voodoo fixes recommended, and can now see the menu screens etc, the graphics still suck. You can't see very far in the distance and like that 2015 screen at the start with the white text on a grey background is so blurred that you literally can not read what it says! So I am getting a GeForce 3 ti 500 expressly to play MOHAA.
But can you PLEASE define some of this stuff that I see advertised. What does the following stand for, and is it important:
AGP
4x AGP
TDH
DDR DVI
8200 t500 pure
This all came from listings on Pricewatch
Thanks.

You should get a Geforce 3 Ti 200 (!!) instead. Ti 500 is much more expensive for a tiny bit more performance.
Also, you need AGP for high-end cards. Open your comp, look for many small, white slots. If you don't have a brown slot, you can't use a G3.

Yea, don't waste your money on a GF3Ti500, unless you're filthy rich. I'm running a P3 700@980 with gobs o' ram and an MSI GF3Ti200 oc'ed to regular GF3 speeds. MOH has worked really well for me so far....

well I can do up to about $325. And the last time I did not go with the latest thing, but got what other people had and liked it was the Voodoo3, quickly out of date and now pretty much unable to play MOHAA without great disadvantages - even with all the fixes for it I can not see a sniper at the end of the hazy street but he can see me clearly - so I don't have a problem getting a ti 500, especially since I want the TV out and all that. But I do not know what those acronyms mean and if some are more desirable than others, or if they all have them but only some mentioned them in their description on line etc.

Yeah, MOH is definitely one of the best games I have ever played. It truly is the "next Half-Life." Challenging, atmoshperic and intense. However, there are times in the game where you can get stuck and not figure out a way to get past for a long time. I have had the game for two days now and I'm only on mission 5. The game is incredibly tough, yet very rewarding. The sound is also amazing. Overall, I would buy this even if it were a hundred dollars; it's that good.
As for multiplayer, I'm not even going to try it till I have a real copy, but the demo's MP is pretty fine.
