Wanted to know if I could edit the default.cfg to bind some of the voice commands to a single key, instead of hitting V,3,5 to warn for a grenade. Would be nice to warn about the nade before it goes off.

I'm used to editing the User.ini file in games using the Unreal engine, but I'm clueless about Q3.

I've already asked it earlier in this forum, but nobody replied. I know there are console commands for each group of voice messages, but you can not chose an exact voice command from those groups.
Group commands are:
instamsg_group_a
instamsg_group_b
instamsg_group_c

I've been trying to find out since last year, but alas, everyone either has no clue or misinterpret the question.

I doubt you can bind actual voice commands, but if someone knows, it would be great.

There has to be a way to do this. I also have heard people doing the speech way to fast to be hitting 3 keys everytime.

Yes some are spammers, but others are pretty exact in saying the right things that apply to the action in the game.

I've asked people in the game, but they either don't answer, or say they are hitting the keys real fast.

Being an id engine based game, & a game that really needs to have these binds available to enhance teamplay, I would really hope that 2015 would allow these kind of binds. Otherwise it is idiotic & useless, & they shouldnt even be in the game. Plus these have been staples in other games & mods for years now. If they are worried about spammers, well crap, you're not gonna change the way some llamas are..

All I know is, I've gotten killed too many times trying to find the right command sometimes. Someone please help us out here.. I'll be trying to figure it out on my own until then.

hear hear

binds are essential for teamplay, since the use of gamevoice or battlecom is not very handy due to the constant background noise ingame(which is cool btw)

these commands need to be accessed easily, like in CS.

someone will find the answer sooner or later.
