Thks Tiwaz for yur advice.
All I am trying to do is play a LAN game between the 2 PC's. No Internet involved.
I notice that on the 98 machine the IP address has been automatically assigned.
Do yu think this may be the problem ??
I can start the Objective Match on the XP machine no problem. When the map loads assign whether Allies or Axis and spawn on the map. Upper right hand corner of the screen is a message "awaiting other players"
On the 98 I click "Join Game" door and then click "Join Lan game".
A "box" appears (similar when playing over the internet) with "no server found" in the middle.
I also have Hidden and Dangerous installed on both machines and can play a LAN game without any problems.
What else can I do ??
Just a further thought......on the XP I use disc 1 to play the game, but on the 98 I have a "no CD" crack to save time installing the CD. Can that be the problem ?? Should I delete the "no CD" and use the CD instead ??
And yes, the 2 games are full retail versions.....no copies involved !!
Thks for all yur advice

cheers
Bagman
