Default Airborne helmet inside shader - 01-04-2003, 07:31 AM

Where is it or cant we use one for airborhe helmets? See the pic. The inside shader doesnt work and the inside is transparent. Can it be fixed?

My .tik has these lines:

"path models/equipment/USGear/helmets
skelmodel us_helmet.skd
surface us_helmet shader acpt_helmet

path models/gear/g_headgear
surface inside shader german-helmet_inside"

Ive tried that w/ & w/o the last section. Still the same outcome.

Thnx for any help.[/img]

Tga works fine as u can see - for the outside. But how does the game create insides for allied helmets? Airborne.tik the original one doesnt refer to any inside shaders like the tik files germans soldiers do. The original tik says:

"path models/equipment/USGear/helmets
skelmodel us_helmet.skd
surface us_helmet shader blank_web"

I have a acpt_helmet shader in my shader file which is basically the same as the original one. Only tga path and filename is changed.

I tested the original airborne soldier too. His helmet had a solid inside.

the german helmet has an internal tga as the american and german heltes are put togther differently in the game.

Next question are you using a german helmet base model on an american solider or an american helmet if an american helmet take the inside tga line out as it won't know where to put it.

That might make it solid

You need to use cull none line in helmet texture shader in order to make the inside look like the outside.
Or you can use us_helmet_inside model and assign other texture for it.
That model can be found from this skinpack:
