 Threads with the sole purpose to report that one has reached a certain number of posts should be locked, yes.
 Reaching 1000 posts over a long period of time might prove that Eight_Ace is not a spammer at all. Opening a thread because of it is spam. So the post was contradictory as well. Locking it was just.
 
 Personally, I didn't think opening the thread was that big a deal. He (Eight_Ace) obviously isn't a spammer by nature. But if you would have left it open, a lot of people may think it is cool and allowed to open a thread because of equal reasons. And as I see it, spamming on AA.com belongs to the past. Thus, topics like that one should be locked. And it is not that he wasn't aware of the no-opening-of-threads-because-I-want-to-reach-a-certain-number-of-posts-rule. It is in the forum rules. Maybe he even anticipated a lock...(?)
 
 One exception, as far as I am concerned: When someone has 9999 posts, he or she is allowed to open a spam topic to reach 10.000, hehe,  biggrin:
