Hey guys, a lot of you are talking about low framerates on specs involving numbers so high they make me dizzy!
I'm gonna try my luck with:

AMD K6 500
128mb RAM

But as for my gfx card, I don't know whether to get a Gladiac 311 GeForce 2MX200 32Mb or a Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 Power VRKyroII 64Mb.
Both are AGP btw.

I'm gonna battle with the game and the machine until I can finally battle the Nazis!

its pointless to "battle" with that machine. its very outdated.

you could get a complete new "bare bones" system with a gf3 t1-200 for under 400 dollars.

Ok for that cpu ( k6 500 ) i'd get the Hercules card bacause the kyroII is better at rendering 3D scenes with that low end cpu. plus its cheap. If you ever upgrade dont get anything lower than a 1gig and nothing lower than a GF3Ti 200 in the graphics department. I wouldn't bother upgrading though until Unreal 2 comes out.

sorry I didn't end my post lol....I wouldn't bother upgrading until unreal 2 comes out unless you have enough money to get a real ninja machine like a 1.7gig with a GF3. But there really isn't any point in getting a GF3 because the GF4 is comming out in the next couple of months and that is way ahead of the GF3.

You could get an additional 256 MB Ram stick and a Geforce 2 MX, but in my opinion your better off getting money for a new system.

Or... upgrade the CPU if you want to upgrade something. I'd agree your system is a little dated.

yes he's better off getting a new system but thats not what he asked was it!!! If he were to get a new system now he would only endup upgrading it in 3 months time. I'd wait till you really really need to upgrade and have enought mioney for a super ninja bastard machine

Dude if you keep your K6 500 get the Hercules KyroII, and then when prices go down get another 256 megs of ram. Start saving money now if you have to and when Unreal 2 comes out it will be time to upgrade again. trust me I'm not a doctor.

uhmm no man people on this forum dont know a damn thing about hardware.

he could get a 1gig duron, kt-266a based motherboard, 256megs ddr, and a gf3 ti 200 for right around 400 dollars.

the kt-266a will give him a very nice upgrade path too. so that if he wants to go faster he can. according to the amd rep i met with a few weeks ago they are expecting to hit 2 ghz very soon the throuobred core should top out around 2.5-3ghz. that means that all he would have to do is swap out the cpu the motherboard will scale well beyond 2ghz.

Thanks guys, the kyro it is.
But I live in England, this country is the most expensive to live in, i can't get the complete setup you guys suggested for under £450 ($520) here. I'll upgrade my cpu to a 1.5 gig atlon if it will make you happy. And a new chunk o memory. Keep this thread open cos I really appreciate any help you guys have.

But if u upgrade the processor then you will need a new mobo as well....maybe even new ram ??

Get the graphics card as suggested then save the pennies for Unreal 2.
I upgraded for Unreal 1 to the tune of £1500 and it was worth every penny .Unreal 2 will be another leap up the ladder....trust me.

a k63-500 will not run this game well PERIOD.

you will have to run at 640x480 with lots of details turned off.

this guy has a no brainer. upgrade your whole system, otherwise youre just wasting money.
