Default It Could've killed you - 05-23-2003, 07:47 PM

Ok, Im watching Final Destination on FOX right now, and it gave me an idea for a thread. Have any of you guys decided not to do something at the last second, then find out later that whatever you were gonna do was tragic and if you were there you would have died? I'll share my expierence

Ok, when i was learning how to do boardsalides on my rail, i wasnt a kid who would wear helmets. Then it started getting cold in my garage (I was skating there cuz it was raining outside), so idecided to put my helmet on to keep the heat in from my head. I then go up to ollie and slide the rail when-lo and behold-I fall backwards and land with my head on the rail. I dunno if it would have killed me, but that action saved me a lot of pain.

Also, years ago, i was running around in the house chasing after my brother, and then i stopped and rested on the couch. I put my feet up on the table, which lid a pillow over on the sharp edge, blocking the edge. I then get up and run again, running by the table chasing after him, where I trip, and i fal, and my head lands on the sharp corner. But the pillow was there, so i didnt hit the edge, but rather the pillow. Also dont know if it would have killed me or not, but saved me a lot of pain

What are your expierences?

One day, I was jacking off and then I stopped because it started raining. If I had kep going, my penis might have fallen off. I don't know if it would have killed me, but it would have caused a lot of pain.

In my friends house. I sat down on a chair once, moving a pillow onto the counter next to it. The next minute my friend threw something at the wall above me and hit a very old collectors plate of his mom's. The plate fell 5 feet onto that pillow on the counter and then onto the chair i was sitting in and had gotten up from. Then to the ground and rolled to a stop. Very funny.

ok this is the scariest stuff iv ever been through.. on the Fourth of July last year, i spent the nite at my frends house. It was like 2AM and i woke up and we wer messin around with fireworks, he was actin like he was gonna lite one.. he was aiming a large bottlerocket at my face when a spark came from the lighter which was about 1 inch or 2 away and landed on the fuse and it lit.. He held it for a sec swinging it back and forth, i grabbed it from his hand and threw it in the closet and shoved him and i ran out of his room.. the thing left a black mark across the wall and a blanket and blew a piece of the wall out.. not really relevent to the thread but it cooda hav blinded someone or caused a lot of pain.

Once we were planning on going to Taipei, but because it was raining we decided not to. (we didn't know it wasn't raining in Taipei at the time)

later that day, Taipei had an earthquake and a large crane fell off this building

it landed on some cars and killed a few people... that building is near where we were going. We would have had to walk past it to get there.

oOo: x2

Not my story, but still weird as shit. A friend of mine's father (we'll call him Bill) was hitch'ing across the US in the '70s. Pretty commonplace at the time. When he was in NV, just off an Interstate onramp, a car pulls over. The guy driving gives him a lift. They drive for a few hours, Eastbound. During the drive, Bill is asked all sorts of questions. What do you do? Where are you from? That kind of shit. Then the questions get personal. Are you into guys? Have you ever blown a guy? Bill then asks the driver to pull the fuck over, now. The guy does, lets him out and drives on.

Months later, John sees on his local news channel that John Wayne Gacey had been arrested. Same fucking guy that picked him up.

*Raises Right Hand* True story, and from a VERY reliable guy
