I had a very similar incident 3 years ago during summer vacation. Me, my mom, my cousin, my uncle and auntie were riding in a car. There was this truck on a lane left side of us. Somehow for some unknown reason my uncle decided to goto the left lane where the truck was and go on further left to the next lane. A few second later we hear this huge crashing and rumbling noise. I look back and the same truck which we were right next to crashed into a yard destroying all this metal fences and barrels. If my uncle hadnt moved the car the truck would have rammed us and killed us all. Kind of scary......the trucker must have fell asleep or something.

I remember reading a story about a soldier in the First World War, he got out of his bunker to go see his mates, found their bunker, had a chat for a few mins and then left and went back to his original bunker. When he got there the thing had suffered a direct hit from an artillery shell and was completely demolished. He thinks to himself, 'damn that was close'. and heads back to his mates bunker. When he gets there that bunker also had a direct hit and is completely demolished. The author then goes on to say that it was these freak acts of fate and chance that was the reason for so many soldiers still being alive.
I spose in war that kinda shyt happens all the more often.

Yeah, my grandad told me that a mortar shell exploded about 8 inches away from him. He didn't get so much as a scratch.

oh yeah, I read this sotry (true) of a soldier who was sitting in a foxhole, where the mail came in. He got out to get his mail, where 10 seconds later-KABLAM-an artillery shell hits directly in his foxhole. But since he was getting his mail, he wasnt in it.
But Noctis, that thing about the car and the truck is just plain scary

Have you heard the theory of parallel universes? The "multiverse"?
They shoot these electron thingies, and they just dissapear. Theyre gone! Or, they dissapear through a certain area, and come back out on the other side of the experiment.
The guys theory says that there is a version of us living in every multiverse. Probably NOT doing the same things we do in this life.
I believe it, in a way. I have had some wack ass cases of deja vu, where I would bet my life I had seen/heard whatever it is before. MY theory is that you're somehow connected to these other yous, and you can feel when you are doing something that you already experienced or did in another multiverse.
So, as for the close to death things.. nope. Never had one. Im carefull, I guess. Although alot is beyond my or anyone elses control...

Alright guys, I think this is my first meaningful post for once...
First, my story. So my brother and i were little and we were racing each other around the block. As it turns out he was too far ahead of me and so I slowed down a little because i knew he had won. But we decided we had to "hurry" home because it was about to rain. A bolt of lightning went down only a few feet in front of me. I guess if my brother and i weren't moving on bikes you never know what would have happened.
As for the whole Deja Vu thing...well your brain receives short term memory and then encodes it to long term memory. The reason why you remember things is because your brain makes relations to other things (which explains stream of consciousness). Deja Vu results from a mistake in retreival. If you don't remember something your mind has the tendency to make things up to satisfy the story. Which is the reason why a lot of people stretch the actual story, and the reason why the children's game "Telephone" is the way it is.
The feeling physical pain in dreams just means that you have such intense dreams that your nerves actually react to the neural activity during the dreams. It doesn't mean anything more than your dreams are so in depth you think they're real. This can develop into a serious sleeping disorder if you end up hurting or destroying other things in your sleep by being so absorbed in your dreams.
Whew. Hope that helps.

Wrong place, wrong time. Gangs are for pussies who can't handle themselves. Was some random gangbanger trying to be hard, probably trying to prove himself in downtown Norfolk. He talked shit and I told him to take his hardass act elsewhere and he shot at me from about 20 feet with a revolver. Missed all his shots (obviously). I pulled my butterfly knife and he ran like a girl. Go figure.

When I was a child, I was born with the cord wrapped around my neck. I spent the first 19 days of my life in a hospital only to find out that I had a rare heart disease. My parents were informed I had a 50/50 chance of survival to age 6, and I wouldn't live to see my 10th birthday. I had several heart attacks as a child.. my parents always seemed to find me just in time. At the age of four I underwent an operation performed in only 5 hospitals in the world.. 4 of them were in the US luckily for me.. the other was in the UK. My chances of survival were less than half, but they performed the surgery anyway after I'd walked up to my mother and asked her whether or not I'd die that day.
When I was around 8 years old, I developed tachycardia. It was a result of all the damaged cells from my childhood being recycled and destroyed (every 3-5 years your cells recycle.. if you've ever experienced a very serious trauma such as heart disease or a stroke this recycling can cause major but temporary health problems). For a period of 8 months I was at risk of cardiac arrest and had two incidents. During the second I was clinically dead for the second time in my life.
When I was 12 years old I was involved in martial arts. I can't remember the style.. it was something odd but started with an O. Anyway, I was involved in weapons training.. specifically staves, wakizashis and katanas. I got to the point where I was good enough to do exhibitions with two katanas when we went to show off in schools and such. While I was warming up for one of these exhibitions my wrist and shoulder locked up and my arm came swinging down at a bad angle. I ended up slicing just below my ear.. if the blade had been rotated a half inch differently I would have sliced right into my jugular.
When I was 14 I was shot at in downtown Norfolk by a decidely poor shot.
At 15 I was accidentally struck in the head with the blunt side of an axe being swung at full force (concussions are fun).
My first car accident was when I was 17. I still can't remember everything that happened while I was driving, but I managed to keep my car on the road for about 1000 yards despite the extremely hot roads. The police officer who saw the same thing to this day comments on my driving and how I should be dead.
About three weeks ago I was sitting a stoplight and my girlfriend called. The light turned green as she called. Normally I jump on green lights, but this time I didn't. 3-4 seconds after my light went green, a huge red truck came barrelling through the intersection hitting and killing the man in the car who had been in the lane next to me at the light.
Those are just the big ones that I can remember.
