Does anyone have any tips to boost FPS like as far as it goes by any means besides overclocking of course
Specs: 1.1 Celeron,256 RAM, GF4 Ti 4200
and my FPS aint that good ... on bridge its like 20
Ill do pretty much anything to make it go up
Yes psychomerc very helpfull you gibbering moron. oOo:
To make the game run better just turn down model detail and terrain detail, lower your resoloution to like 800x600. Set the "effects" to lowest as well, also turn off the lighting effects for the models etc.
Gen.WikiWeaponn":1b089]
Type com_maxfps 0 in console, that uncaps it, this only helps if you're maxing out at 99 fps anyway.
But since the human eye can only see 30 fps..

The eye sees at 32 FPS[/quote:1b089]
HAHA Fools! I have glasses therefore I see at 64 FPS!
As abrupt as it was Psychomerc`s advice was the best, I'm afraid.
No matter what clock speed your Celeron runs at it is still technology of an old generation. It's the only thing that will likely be causing your FPS issues.
By the way, I have an Athlon XP 2000+, 512 DDR ram and a gforce3 64 MB but I still only get 30-40 FPS on Bridge. It's playable, without a doubt, but Bridge is just a very slow map (looking down the length of it outside).
20FPS average was what I got with my old Duron 700 (with no players on the map).
Upgrade your CPU to Athlon/P4 generation and your FPS issues will dissapear.
No matter how many options you take off your CPU is causing the main bottleneck. You could have texture division at max (ie no textures rendered at all just plain shading) all models and details and curves and terrain set to lowest, turn off the sky and still, you'll suffer bad FPS.
