ok, the clan im in |DPG|, gives quite a few people admin privliges, and we have a very bad cheat detector that i dont think has ever caught a person. so when im on and i see someone with a very very high score and looks sort of suspicious i run "rcon dumpuser 'players name'" usually it gets me something like : allied player:allied_sas" which is a normal skin.

but sometimes when i run dumpuser i get : dm_playermodel :allied_sas_N , and i get dm_playergermanmodel :german_panzer_tankcommander_N
ok i thought that, N, meant a chameleon skin but now im not sure cause no one has been able to give me a straight answer. please respond to this telling whether N at the end of a players skin is a cheat, it has always been uppper cased N never lower cased.
o yea and if the name is like allied_sas_2 is that a cheat? thanks

Some servers force that skin to see if the player cheats. And some players forget to switch back to a normal skin after being on those kind of servers.

It could also be a stock skin renamed with an _N or _2 suffix to cover up for the cham skins. So in the end its hard to tell which is which.

i think on dodstudios.net there is a whole list of current cheat skins out there, that should help you determine which is a cheat and which isn't and yes most of the time a skin ending with _N is a cheat skin

An addon to this, can detectors see whether your just using a custom skin or a cheat skin? I use skins that i download from this site but sometimes I get kicked for cheating. There just ordinary skins, none of this clown shit but I still get kicked.

um... well just try renaming the skin name and if you have to many good kills they will suspect ur cheating

If it isn't a stock skin, most servers will boot you. Unfortunately this is how it is now on most servers. If you want to use a cool skin, you can rename it over a stock one. The skin being a nonbright one of course.

but wtf, i was in a server and i didnt have any custom skins and i would hit F2 and i couldnt see my player models, it said gerrman_wehrmacht_soldier_2 or something, but since i didnt have them .. i couldnt see them.

CI for some reason makes your models disappear if they are using an anti cheat hack protection. If you cant see them thats a good thing. Means that your not cheating and that your ok to play.
