Why Retards Shouldn't Be Server Admins - Page 4

Well, I just thought I would put my two cents worth into the pot hehe. I am the server admin for the [RCM] server. I run CI and mam on my server. To date I have banned 734 players, yes, 734. Some of the ip's I got from the cheat police, a lot I have kicked myself. I have also gotten ip's from other clans we are close with. I have banned over a dozen clan tags, and the numbers keep rising. I have my server set up so that FF is always on. You have got to love the peeps that come in, start tking everyone lol. GONZO. Attack any player, regardless of whether or not they are in my clan or not, GONZO. Any racist or hatred fueled remarks...GONZO. I do not kick or ban based on score, or if you come in and whoop our asses. If I think you may hack, I will simply force a ss on you, and you have 24 hours to send it to me, if you do not, you guessed it...GONZO.

I try my best to maintain a cheat free server at all times. Our squad has over 7 admins, who will kick and ban accordingly. We love to play, and thats all we want to do is to play. Have a cheat skin on, see ya later. The other night, we had 6 members of another squad in our server. One got caught switching to the ronald skin, cya. The other players started to curse at us for kicking him, well CI did but whatever. So, I kicked their whole clan, and banned their tags. I dont put up with any crap what so ever.

The reason I wanted to post was to share a little for those who wanted to know what other admins do or think. I myself am 31 and am a computer programmer. I run edited localization text with a few swears here and there, cause that is the way I like it to be. Does that make me a bad admin? Not in my books. I kick and ban a lot of people for just reason, no problems there correct? I dont run any funny mods or anything except for a few sound mods. Just adds some flavour to the game if you ask me. We are truly one of the 100% cheat free servers out there, or at least as cheat free as a server can be. Maybe those that are ineterested can check us out sometime. 207.44.218.150. We are honest players who just like to play the game, have fun and shoot the shit over ts with the rest of our squad.

There are some pretty funny mods out there. One of our clan members for their map week on our server wanted a funky mod. The rockets were modded so that they didnt hurt you to hit you, but when they did hit you, they could launch you across the board! That just goes to show that there are ALL kinds of people out there with ALL kinds of different tastes. Some weird, some serious, but all want to have fun. Thats why when we get someone whining in our server about settings we say......Look, this is our home, have fun and shut it or go find another server. At any given time there are at least 200 - 500 different servers out there. The whole point is to have fun somewhere.

Well, whatever, but i was on this server and they had to this really funny mod where the rocket was turned into a Stuka! lol, it was so funny sniping up in the bell tower in Destroyed Village and having a Stuka crash into you biggrin:

Amen! I'm the Admin for our server the {RSHA}. I've experienced alot of those whiners too...But they go away...or you make them go away...one way or another, they are no longer an issue.

We run mods on our server (scopes) and say so in the listing on GS and ASE...so ppl know before they even come in (If they can read) what to expect. When i'm crusing around to other servers it's kinda neat to see the other mods folks have put together. Theres alot of time devoted to our games...people should respect the effort.

Just thought I'd stick my nose in too...

i run the [5th ESB] spearhead server ..and i try to keep it a fun place to play and keep it interesting with custom skins,mods and stuff like that ..than you get these idiots that come in ..run cheats and whine when you kick them ..then thay acuse you of cheating cause you or one of your clan members is running a custom skin ..yeah ..my uniform with the 5th ESB emblum on it and FLAGG on the back is really helping me get kills ..but someone with a wall hack is inocent ..i spend so much time trying to keep the map rotation fresh and interesting..keep skins and mods in that keep the game fun and map fixes that just work ..just like most of the ADMINS out there ..and we do this just to have a server that players enjoy ..then you get some 12yr old kid who just got the game and found a website that he can dounload cheets from and comes into the server that we have spent all this time on just to make a fun place to play ...thay run these cheats and then treat us like WE did somthing wrong when we catch them and call them on it ..now the other thing that bugs the s**t out of me are players like NOCTIS ...who think thay are on some crusade to judge every server out there ..give it a rest bro ..you are not the high god of servers..sent by EA games to pass judgement ..when people realise that ADMINS on avrage have to give up most of there playing time to run a good server and make it fun ,just so people like NOCTIS can kick us in the teath when he dosent agree with a mod we run ..oh ..and angeldust does some of teh sweetest skins ever to grace this game ..thanks much for the hard work you put into them bro ..and thanks to [5th ESB] MinorThreat for the killer job he did on our custom skins ..works of art ...

As one of the Admins for AAN's SH and BF servers I agree with this 100%.

Sometimes I spend more time in the console typing warnings or kicking ppl than I do playing if Im the only Admin on TS. It all makes it worthwile though when we get compliments on how well the server is Admined or a new player will post on our forums thanking us for such a clean server. We have fathers/mothers post on our forums saying ours is the only server they will let their kids play on as well as having several husband/wife teams. Not to diss Noctis but there are hundreds of other servers out there. Dont like our rules or our modded Realism? Go somewhere else. We dont care, really. For every jerk we kick theres 10 more guys waiting to get on. Nobody gets kicked from an Admins ego. The only time a player gets kicked for doing nothing wrong is to let an AAN member in.

This actually turned out to be a good thread. Sometimes players need to be reminded of how much WORK is involved in running a server.

The best server Admins are the ones you dont ever see or hear, their the ones that do all the work below the surface.

Twat Admins are the ones that spam bullshit through console on power trips and feel they need to intimidate other players.
