That's Buddy Holly and Richie Valens. Lynard Skynard died in a plane crash too.

Another good guitarist was John Lee Hooker.

[quote="Sgt Stryker":93ce6]I voted Jimi Hendrix but would just as well have picked Stevie Ray Vaughn, but I cannot vote twice cry:[/quote:93ce6]

Actually I voted SRV, but could have gone hendrix.

Cobain had a knack for popular music and I like his stuff, but he wasnt exactly a guitar great, was he? He even made comments that at times he needed an extra guitarist because he had a hard time playing and singing at the same time.

Ahh, c'mon.

Doesn't sunshine on your shoulders make you happy? And don't country roads take you home to a place you belong?

No, Kurt was not a great guitar player, but he fit the bill as a player who died a tragic death. He was a damn fine songwriter though, I'll give him that.

John Lee Hooker doesn't count since he died at the ripe old age of 306. John Denver I guess would fit the bill, but just barely. Not exactly known as a guitar god, though...heh heh.

I s'pose you could make a case for Elvis. He DID play guitar, but he wasn't known as a guitar player as such.

Again, I RE-ITERATE, I left off a lot of people...that's why there's the Other option. So, if you want Elvis, vote Other.
