right now i run a nvidia 16 mb video card i would like to upgrade to thiis video card http://www.target-sale.com/tusa/items/v ... 03790.html can anybody give me information on how it runs or how many fps they do with it?
Playing with a 16 MB card is real tuff, Yes it is time for u to upgrade your
Video Card the pro's and Con'sas to which is how much u willing to spend
on it. For the FPS and over all game play and having all the eye candy turned on go with the 128 MB DDR card they can handle any game that is
out thier right now. Again its how much u willing to spend on the card,
Do the research and try to find the one that will last u untill you can get the
really good Video i have the GF4Ti200 128 MB DDR(3.6NS chip) and this puppy runs really good and plays all my games with no problem.
i got a geforce 4 ti 4200 128 and i get about 70 fps all the time with 1600X1200 res and every thing on high detail and i dint pay that much only liek 100$ i think give or take
Cloud":10f50]my motherboard only supports 4x/2x agp..if i get a 128 meg video card will it only run @ 64 megs? will it still perform like i want it to? thanx[/quote:10f50]
what other computer specs do you have, like how old is the pc...For instance i had a 500mhz that i wanted the best performance on and i couldnt get a better graphics card then like a g4orce 2 64mb, or else it would fry my board.
If I were going to upgrade my card, I would go with one of the newer releases in the Nvidia or AMD series. If you try to skimp too much and get a mid-level card, It will be outdated in a relatively short period of time. Then you have to re- upgrade sooner and end up spending more $$$. Just my experince though.
Don't get the Geforce FX 5200-5600, they suck. The FX5900 Ultra looks promising, though.
Go for a Radeon 9500 Pro or a Radeon 9700 Pro.[/quote:662c9]
A geforce FX 5200 might not keep up with a radeon 9700 as good but it's a great card and the only 128mb PCI card. So if you're limited with only PCI slots like me then you would have to get that card if you wanted a 128mb video card. Besides, nvidia demolishes ati when it comes to gaming especially when it comes to games made by EA. A geforce FX 5200 can easily get as good framerates on games as a Radeon 9500! cool:
