Default Refresh Rate - 06-11-2003, 01:52 AM

HI

I have a problem with MOHAA. No matter what resolution I run it in, I get a refresh rate of 60hz. This gets very sore on the eyes after an hour or 2 of Nazi killing! I have tried 3rd party software programs that fix the 60hz programs and it worked but I got weird rainbow colors in the game. Also some other games didn't like having a resolution being forced and refuse to run (ie. Enter The Matrix). So I've scrapped the idea of running third party refresh forcers.

I have a Geforce 4 MMX440 and have tried both the application controls refresh rate and override refresh rate options but I'm still getting 60hz. Is there anyway via command or editing a cfg file that I can tell MOHAA to run at my preferred rate of 85hz? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Deb

Download RivaTuner here[/url:76062]. Enables you to maximize the refresh rate for every resolution.

Salute!

'Same problem/complaint here, Debbie.

Tiwaz, NVRefresh is no help.

After some hours of investigation and comparision to my other OGL games, I've come to the conclusion that MOH is setting this as the SS seems to show.

So a bump to the top for the question, Where can the 'Refresh Rate' be adjusted?

TIA and Salute,

MVrefresh doesn't work? Don't know what that is. As I said, use RivaTuner[/url:7f442]. If you have a nVidia card, recent drivers and Windows, it works. Look better: After having installed RivaTuner, start it. Click on the button next to the lowest bar which says 'Customize...'. Click on the icon with '60 Hz.' on it. Click 'select all display modes' (bottom left). Then, click on >> (Set maximum refresh rate bla bla). Click 'Install' and close/reboot. You're done.

If this doesn't work, then either your monitor doesn't support higher refresh rates, or your monitor driver, or both.

Salute!

Thanks, Tiwaz!

I was hesitant to use the RivaTuner due to the 'warning msg' that it didn't support currently installed drvrs. As a matter of fact, I didn't have the 'Customize' option (in the lower window/bar) until I reinstalled the 44.65 set, after installing RivaTuner ... go figger???

BTW, NVRefresh is a app. that allows setting of the lo-end refresh rates, similiar to RivaTuner.

As you can see, I really could use an edit button ... 'don't have one of those, either ... :-)

Thanks Again,

BBQ

I believe the most recent nVidia drivers are not supported by RivaTuner, you're right. That's why I use an older version (the one available through Windows update). Unless you own a really up to date nVidia card the newest drivers don't make that much a difference anyway.

Edit:

You can download older nVidia drivers here[/url:25570].
