The best bet is to just get the MOD chip, even Gamecube has one now (mini DVD's are still too expensive though). Pretty soon you may not even need the mod chip though, they are close to breaking the encryption on the disc.

And thats when all gaming companys die.....
Nope, just job security for the guy that writes the disc encryption.
Exactly. How many game companies have you seen go under because of Pirating? None. They go under because either the games are just rehashed ideas slapped onto a shiny new system, or the marketing sucks, or they just don't have the money to keep up with the competitors. In truth, people who pirate the games would not in most cases buy the game anyway. The opposite though is true for movies. Word spreads fast if a movie is good or not through IRC and the message boards. The result is people who download the movie and like it, will either a) go see the movie itself, or B) Generate good buzz that spreads through the online community in result giving the company free advertising.

Not that there may be some financial loss, but if a movie is good, and the hundred million dollars that was spent on it is well used, then people will go see it at the theater. Never blame Pirating for the decline of game sales, well, maybe for the PC games...
