And what kind of reformat was it? cuz what it seems to sound like is driver conflicts. preexisting drivers are conflicting with the current onesand that usually happens when you have Gforces cards. they dont have "flexible drivers" they dont like change. if you have an old card laying around delete the gforce drivers install the other card, then try the Gforce again. Another problem could be the Gforce drivers are incompatible with XP. go on microsoft.com or the Gforce website to find updated drivers

he isnt having video problems, he is having sound problems, or did nvidia come out with a sound card called Gforce?
