Default $%#@!!!! Microsoft - 08-15-2003, 09:22 PM

Earlier this week, I went to Microslut and downloaded all the critical updates for WIN2K because of these worm writing little thug wannabes. For some reason, i lost my senses for a few minutes and downloaded one of the recommended updates. Updated audio drivers. Big mistake. Now I cant get my mic to work anymore.

I got two mics, neither works, so I think I can eliminate a defective mic. I cant get it to work in TS or in windows, so I think I can eliminate that. (and it did work before.) As I dig deeper the drivers dont sound familiar, and I go search the ms website to see wth I did. Yep, new audio drivers, and the old drivers are erased off the face of the planet. So the next option is to go to asus (A7V8X) and see if they have any updated drivers. Ah ha!!! They do, but no, you cant have them, we are too busy. $#@%%!&& !!@#$ Grrrrrr........getting rather pissed. mad:

Anyone else had this problem?

Have a solution?

I hate to admit defeat, but I am about ot go drop $20 on a sound card a disable the onboard one.

I had the same problem. I discovered it while trying to have a phone conversation on MSN messenger. I went to view- audio tuning wizard and it fixed it.( works on everything now, not just on messenger). maybe it was a fluke but it worked for me----good luck

If you have XP, try the rollback feature.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

win2K and per microsoft, no undo. cry:

I did back my windows up before I installed all the updates, but I would rather buy a cheap sound card than fuck with all that.

Yeah, just go to control panel, remove the soundrivers, reboot and get the drivers off of the Windows 98 disc.

Ya know what? I get error messages when ever I run a program besides Aim or explorer. Microsoft sucks! Is there some way to disable illegal operations messages because if my computer gets fucked its to the point where I dont even want to be notified anymore.
