if you want the best, GeForce 4 should be out soon i think. but it won't be worth the money.

won't be worth the money... hah directx like 9.0 support 128 megs of ddr ram.. and i'm sure it will be like superly clocked. it will be worth it.. if you wanna spend the 500 it will take probably.. i myself have a visiontek geforce 3 i like it much cost 330 i think... but the best card out now is the Geforce 3 ti500 its nice about 8 fps more in quake 3 i think then the geforce 3. it also depends on your system that you have with the graphics card. i mean i have a super fast system (amd athlon xp 1900 512 ddr 120 gigs of hd space) so i mean i wanted the nice card but its with your budget and your computer and what you want.

but you won't need that kind of power any time soon. i say wait for the GeForce 4 to come out and buy a GeForce 3 when the price goes down. the GeForce 3 is plenty powerful. in fact, i don't think it's even fully utilized yet.

Give the guy a Gold Star.
There isnt even any games out that take advatage of most of Gef3 cards yet
just now starting to get games that require DX8. Buy the time that anygames do come out that will utilze the Gef3 it will be the be at the lower end of the spectrum as far as price goes.

ATI wouldnt be a bad choice, the hardware is there, but there drivers are shitty, they are supposedly brought in new peeps to do nothing but concentrate on getting there driver sit fixed, keep a eye on these guys, and cross your fingers as if they get there shit together this could be good for everyone, and create a price war, we need some vid card competion since 3DFX left the market,Nvidia has been able to charge outragious prices and get away with it.

Geforce3 Ti 500 and Radien 8500.
Radien is around the same price of Geforce3 Ti200 and you get the same performance of the Ti500 plus it supports dual monitor connection and a few other features. I personally prefer the nVIDA products.
