1) Make a config named autoexec.cfg
2) put it main
3) add this line in the config--
exec custom.cfg

put all your player cvars, mouse settings,sound settings, video settings in this config. add this line at the end of the config--exec binds.cfg
now put all your key bindings in binds.cfg

don't put any configs in mainconfigs
only put them in main

I have several configs made with alias's and bindings..if this doesn't help i'll send you mine and you can alter them to your tastes..
