Why does it not save my name in multiplayer options?

I can pick a name and save it, but if i choose to modify this name whenever I exit the game and come back later to play, it defaults to the original name... This happened in the demo to me too..

I had the same problem with the demo. what fixed it for me was, instead of opening the game from gamespy and then going to options once in a game. I just opened straight into the game, made my change, then shut it down. then ran the game from gs. it stayed after that. hope this helps
