First MAX PAYNE 2 thread! ;-) -

Post your opinions on the game in here!
My mini-review
Gfx: Great use of recent technology. Nowhere near the level of detail found
in Doom III, but for the kind of game this is, the graphics work like a charm.
Sound/Music: Excellent ambient soundtrack and quality of all the samples.
The dialogue, as in the previous Payne, is excellent.
Controls: Tight. No complaints...
Story: We have good stuff in here, folks. I won't spoil anything for you but
trust me when I say that it gets better and better as the game progresses.
All in all, I'm very happy with the way this game has turned out: it could've
been a "milking the cow" style sequel but they managed to make a brand
new Payne game; that is to say, add a few new things that keep the game
fresh for even the most hardcore MP players. There are several easter eggs
for you to spot during your travels...
Go out and get this gem.

How does it shape up with the original storyline, in that A) Does it lead on from the end of the first one well, and B) Directly compared, is it as good? Because, i reckon the Original Max Payne had THE best storyline of a game i've played to date.

IT's nice to actually buy a game once and a while, why not support the developers instead of always stealing from them? Anyway it is only single player, and the story picks up from where the first one left off. Max is still trying to find out if Mona is still alive and he is still friends with the Russian Mafia. Vinny Gognitti looks to be running the Italian mafia, and there is a conspiracy with the inner circle to whipe out anyone who knows of their exhistance. Oh, and there is a group called the cleaners that work for the inner circle doing the dirty work. A level where you walk through a fun house is very surreal, and the graphics are clean and crisp. Turn on AA and the settings to high if you can and it looks beautiful.
Well that's a summary, go buy it because Rockstar always puts out good products.

Well the first game pretty much sucked, it was short as hell and was in development for like 3 years with numerous release dates never met. It basically just relied on the "bullet time" gimmick and had little in the way of gameplay. Im sure part 2 is more of the same.

I'm going to buy HL2, I was just curious what could be done with the beta. I will never buy any medal of honor product again, unless something drastic happens at EA to change the whole PR and community support. That's not to say I will steal any of the games either, because why would I steal something I wouldn't play anyway?

I got it yesterday and it rocks, BUT did anyone else get the shirt? It made it worth much more to me, you gotta love rockstar for that kind of marketing. I want another mousepad too.
