OK, i've beaten the game, but i think i did Omaha incorrectly.

Once the landing craft opens i typically get shot up real bad even on easy. I had been playing the game on hard until Omaha. If it weren't for the medic that healed me all the time i wouldn't have the level at all.

Anyhow, i have to quickload about 30 times before I can reach the trench.

On the beach run, I've tried taken cover behind the metal structures that were meant to stop tanks and landing craft. I can avoid fire while i'm covered, but i can't seem to make it between the structures.

Getting the bangalores is no problem

After the "Covering Fire" thing and the two npcs get killed and the player has to make it to the trench, I always either get shot to pieces or blown up by the mines. (I can't figure out a mine-free path) I got lucky the first time.

Everything after that is easy.

A free mine path is from crater to crater and take the left side to enter the bunker complex when you are in the 3rd crater. The direct entrance is mined.
