Default June06 Map - Unused Mission? - 10-26-2003, 02:30 AM

The other day I was playing on the June06 D-Day map and went into noclip mode just to see what was behind all the bunkers. I was rather surprised to find that there were artillery pieces up there that were set up so that your player could blow them up (ie, red silouettes for where to place the charges).

Has anyone else seen this and know anything about it? It seems a bit odd, considering there doesn't appear to be any way to get to this area of the map unless you are in noclip mode.

There are a number of bunkers back there you can enter, but I haven't found any explosives to detonate the artillery with.

Are you referring to the stock Omaha map? Or something named D-Day June 6, that was user made?

Yeah, it was the D-Day map that came with the game.

I can't seem to fina a way to get to the topside of the bunkers other than by entering noclip mode (and god mode helps).

But, once you do that, there's this whole new gaming area on the map that goes unused.

Rumor has it that EA wanted the game released before the development could finish up everything they wanted to accomplish so that map was shortened up a bit.

Also, you can find one of the developers names in the hillside by floating around in spectator mode on mp. I can't remeber who's name it was because it's been so long since I played that map.

What he is seeing is the multi-player map..... It seems that the single player uses the multiplayer map, but it only go's so far into the map.

When you play online (multiplayer) you'll see the full map with guns...

Hope that helps
