Engineers spend a lot of the time on the ground prodding (which I actually had to do today in a Mina Awareness course) and they need upper body strenght to put bridges together.

So if you like dirt, and finding shiny metal things that blow can up, then Engineer is the way to go! I prefer infantry.

I knoe a couple people here in 33 Field Engineer and thy say its alright. Any of combat arms are good, but infantry is the best.

If you want information you need to ask specific questions. And the best person to talk to would be a recruiter. Theres no obligation, just go in and say your interested in becoming an engineer, and they give you a ton of shit. Thats the best place to go, not here.

Keep in mind that when I speak, I speak for the Canadian Forces, and not US Military. So things could be different there, but they shouldn't be.

US Army engineers spend alot of time in the field. Hard job , but if you can hack it , you'll love it!

And rest assured when you get out you will have no problem finding a job.

Best of Luck!
