lol!

You've got good story-telling skills, m8.

My dream is to teach my daughter to own at first person shooters so we can form a clan together. Heh.

I wouldn't trade it for anything, but I need my killing sprees too!

Hear hear - I'm in the same boat too. Ever since our daughter came along, I've suffered from lack of sleep due to the fact that I only get to play when both are asleep, which means from 10pm to 12 midnight.

The missus gets really pissed off when she has to wake up to kick me off the PC. "What! It's 2 am already!?! OK OK off to bed!"

It's early days yet but I wonder whether my kid will be any good at gaming...

Steel, I liked your story.

I have been really blown away in the game (literally), and unexpectedly I might add, by some of these female gamers. They’re good! It still feels kinda weird killing them though. Ya know, the ‘never hit a girl’ thing. But hey, that’s war! (Smile)

After reading many of the posts in thread, I am encouraged. The reason being, is that I feel kinda guilty (immature?) spending so much time (not to mention the money for the system, games and cable every month) playing these games. I gotta admit I DO love it. I’m forty-six, married, with a six year old, but I can’t help but feel like a kid playing these games sometimes. Actually it’s pretty much like I’m reliving my childhood all over again. I really didn’t have the money to spend at the arcade when I was a kid. But now I have the resources. Can you imagine how long the line would have been to play MOH if it would have happened to be available at the arcade, say back in the eighty’s? I wonder what the average age is for those who play MOH?

lol that is a funny story and rather embarrasing too.
Just a bit of trivia some Russian women snipers had more than 400 german kills during ww2. so we all better watchout.

Nothing to be embarrased about being killed by a laydee.
I always find the women that play on MP are actually damn good....otherwise they wouldnt show their face on them to be humilated.
Women make worthy opponents in MP, but its still not as satifying as knifing people with wacky names like $n!p@r Wo[f who get things like 100+ kills. then you sneak round the back and slit them open, ala delta force 2 & 3.

Exorcist mate dont feel gulty. Im 36 this year and have one son, and ive been playing games now for about 4 years and ive gotta say that its the best four years of fun ive had all my life. Also ive met some great lifelong online friends with the same interests as fps war/tactical games. I once asked a mate of mine would he be playing these games when hes eighty he said"shit yeah!" i laffed and said so will I
It alllows me to escape to a different world and forget about the worries for a while at the same time have some real fun.

its a hobby of mine that i really love

Couldn't agree more with this. I too didn't play much games when I was a child. Didn't have a Nintendo, Sega or whatever. We had an Atari (compared to a Nintendo, it was nothing), I was more into sports I guess, playing hockey all over the place.

But now, I play games like mad. NHL2k2, Colin McRae 2, MOHAA, Grand Theft Auto 2.
