I've already ran the game at 800X600 and 1024x768 but I'm telling you it runs way more stable at 1280x768. it may just be my video card but it really did help and I know it makes no sense at all. If you haven't tried it you should at least give it a shot.
thanks for your feedback
I agree with you on playing at 1280x1024 is about equal or a bit faster than 1024x768 on GF3 card. I do not understand why but its fine with me, I am not complaining.
I also found if you turn the Rez up it run better. Weired
My Geforce 3 only has about 4 months life left untill the Geforce 4 comes out. it better start to impress me more

someone on an earlier post said to change the res to 1280 by 768 and it will increase fps. I'm thinking this guy is out of his mind, so I didn't bother with it until tonight. my fps are now much more consistent.

I was the guy that said it was better. For me, personally, and on my system, 1280x1024x32 actually ran faster, smoother, and of course looked better, than 640x480x32, 800x600x32, 1024x768x32, etc..... I don't know how it would be on other people's systems, but it sure looks a hell of a lot better on mine.

If "con" is the opposite of "pro," then what is the opposite of progress?
ok, so after tweaking this thing for a week straight I can finally enjoy playing this game. I have a athlon 850,256 pc133,geforc2 gts 32,everything set at medium, 1024 by 768 and my frames were crap, 35 to 8fps at times.

No, the larger you make the screen, the less FPS you are going to have. The reason being is that when you make it larger, the amount of pixels jumps up exponentially, making it so your video card has to refresh or send more information. If you want higher FPS, play at 800X600.
To be perfectly honest I have seen a stability improvement at 1024 x 768, I have no idea why, maybe my GF3 likes working a bit harder with a higher res. All logic would say 'no it wouldn't' but it does.
I guess its just my system, but I never ever get a performance boost from turning up my resolution. I used to run at 1024x768, but if I turn on Quin AA and run at 800x600, it looks better (IMO) and runs better. Guess its just me.
