You can either write down the name before you enter or ask someone in the server what the name is.
Or just write down the Ip so they can directly connect.

Or if you use gamespy or all seeing eye i believe you can mark favorites their.

Maybe their is some command to do in the console to see it?

Once I join a game and I forget what it was called, how can I find out the name of the server I joined so I can tell my buds to join.

Good question...I also happen to be in the same situation a lot of times...
