Graphics cards and game performance. -

Quick question the graphics cards and game performance. My computer has a 2.1 gig processor and I have upgraded the memory to 512mb. My current graphic card is an intel(r) 82845g/gl that came with my puter. I bought a good 128k 3d graphics card but found i gat screwed when i bought my computer. It has a small frame tower and the standard pci cards will not fit. the only card gateway had was a 64k 2d professional card for $30 more. will it be worth my while to transfer to a full size tower to get the good graphics cards. This should not be a problem but i want to know if my gameplay speed will be significantly better?
If you are going to change towers, make sure your motherboard has an AGP Slot and get an AGP card that is 100 % DX3 compatible if you are planning on future gaming. Also insure the motherboard is AGP 8x specifications. Anything in an AGP Card 128MB and above should server you well.
ATI has a trade-up policy and you get $50.00 on most cards you send in. I sent in a 4MB Diamond Stealth for my trade in cuz I found it in my JUNK drawer. I have the ATI 9800 Pro 256MB and it rocks.

PS: Newer ATI Radeon Cards need a full size power plug for the fans so make sure you aren't overloading your PS when you upgrade.
1. Get the latest and greatest ATI Cat Drivers
2. Get the latest and greatest DX drivers
3. Start your game at lowest video settings & res 800x600
PLAY
Everything good ?
Bump up video settings 1 notch at a time until you see corruption/halting.
The card will let you know when it's reached its limits.
