Why is everyone typing in the SNES/NES/Genisis(sp?) games they grew up with?

Anyway. the PC game(s) I grew up with?

Castle Wolfenstein 3-D
Doom
Red Alert

After Red Alert, I played the N64 until I got another computer when I was 11, or something. Then I played Diablo, Starcraft, SWAT2.

I didn't "grow up" on PC games, that's the thing. I never played a PC game until university.

Me = child of the 70s-80s

But, I'll play along and say that my oldest PC gaming experiences would have to be Doom/II, Wolf-3D, The Incredible Machine, Leisure Suit Larry, Apache Gunship, Star Trek, NHL 94, Sim City, Scorched Earth (The Mother of all Games...heh heh).

When I was a kid we didn't have computers. I would get up in the morning and do chores for a couple of hours, then walk to school barefooted in the snow - 15 miles all uphill. When I got home from school - another 27 miles, uphill, there were more chores to do. If we did, by some miracle, find time to play a game we would play baseball....the only game a young American should ever want to play. But of course we could not afford bats or balls so we played with a stick and a bottle cap. I'll never forget the time little Henry Aaron came up to bat in the first inning and nailed a Budweiser cap through Rufus McAllen's left eye and out the back of his head. Nasty business that was. awesome hit though..boy did he put a stroke on that "ball"!!!... But that was the only hit Rufus gave up that day and we won the game one to nothin'. Yep. back in the old days guys played hurt. It was no big deal, that's just the way it was...hmmmm what were we talking about? Oh yeah, computers. I never touch 'em.
