Hey all, my first post here but I have to say the information I'm finding on this board is second to none.

Anyway, I'm at the last (I hope) level of Fort Schmerzen, where you're back up the elevator and have about 30 feet until you're outside. You can't stay in the building, because it's still exploding. SO starting the level with full health, I've made it outside, and lasted about 30 seconds because my health is so low by then that the numerous snipers put a few shots into me and it's all over.

Anyone have any advice for me? Right now, I think I'll have to try it about 30 more times before I'm lucky enough to live through the first 2 minutes. I'm currently using the German machinegun to clear out the troops in and directly outside the building, and I'm not sure how any other weapon would allow me to get out of there with any speed.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Ok, I have read one good strategy that works more then 50% of the time.

And read Vulture's post. I would also add, to aim for the head. Nothing takes out a Nazi faster then a couple of Headshots by an automatic rifle. (Well maybe turning on the gas...)

Have you tried loading a saved session prior to the building blowing up? This may allow you to regain some health and attempt a different strategy prior to exiting the building with minimal health. Good luck.

Yea, maybe I didn't emphasize that in the first post. I am starting with full health... It's just that I end up losing it quite quickly =/

Looking forward to trying this new strategy though. Before I was trying to be Rambo, and I kept getting my a$$ handed to me on a platter. Thanks for checking though.

D/M:
I'd appreciate a little help with getting OUT of the fort. I have gotten down a hallway, up some steps, picked my way thru several exploding passageways and rooms, only to end up at what appears to be a double sliding door that won't open in the 3 seconds before the "final blast" gets me. You said something about a thirty foot run (from the elevator??). Can you give me a little assistance with the route out of the fort? It sounds like the exit may be closer than I've realized. Thanks.
