Any other US peeps ever watch Tour Of Duty? It's on TNT cable network right now, has been for awhile now. Getting close to running the second season outta three.

It's a series about the Vietnam war, originally aired from '87-'89 or '90 I believe. Awesome awesome series. It totally captures the issues about the war & how the grunts felt & issues they dealt with, along with some excellent chair gripping action. I don't know from experience, I was 3 years from draft age when the war ended. Nonetheless I would recommend watching it.

Not to take anything from the seriousness of war, etc., it does get you in the mood for some MOHAA too, even though it was a totally different time period.. Check it out if you can.

No it wasnt Paint It Black by the 'stones. For some reason though I associate that song to some show about 'nam. There was another series called Vietnam War Stories on HBO I think, that might have had Paint It Black as the theme song.

'Whiter shade of pale' by Procul Harem is another song that always gets associated with the Vietnam War, I love that song.

Yes in the early seasons "Paint it Black" was the theme song. I loved that show, I used to watch it back when it was on.

yup...I watched it all the time during it's original run...and I HATE that they changed the theme song from "Paint it Black" to that newer one...that song just set the mood, the new one is o.k.,but it does nothing to associate it with the Vietnam War.

For some reason TNT has removed "paint it black" from the opening and closing credits and now there is some stupid song that sounds like a 4-year-old made up on their casio keyboard. Maybe the Stones had a problem with the song being there or because the show is now syndicated TNT couldn't afford the royalties.

I would have to agree that it is probably a 'not-having-enough-money-to-pay-royalties-issue'.

As far as the show...I used to love it when it first came out, but really don't enjoy it that much anymore. Not sure why though.

Yeah I too loved that show!! I was in 11th grade when it originally aired and I couldnt wait for the night that it aired, I dug Zeake the Sgt. he was the man on that show!!!! Ya know now that I tank about it there really isnt a GOOD Vietnam PC game out there, I mean theres the Vietnam Black Ops I & II, but its kindve cheesy, I mean I would like to see something like a "MOH Vietnam" game, or even something along the lines of "Return to Castle Wolf...." but instead how 'bout "Return to the Ho Chi Min Trail" sounds like a winner to me!!!

emphasis on the "Ho" you realise that it would not be good to have it like this.... from what i see the allied assault is in big open places (keep this in mind now) and then it would probably be better to make it like operation flashpoint or somthing i don't think the quake 3 engine could handle that type of game going through jungles and such....
