how do you know they're hippies?
more stereotypes maybe?
If you haven't realized it by now hippies were anti-establishment (ie current government) not anti-America
As for the hippy/Vietnam argument: I don't see how approving of Johnson sending our boys to die in some asian shithole instead of trying to stop him is supporting our troops, its more like handing out their death sentences.
The only way to win Vietnam was to start by publically executing Ngo Diem's entire government, they were as bad (if not worse) than the communists, which is why many did not like the US, because to them we were supporting an asshole that was possibly worse than the asshole we were fighting.
I'd like to get off the subject now because I can rant about the mistakes we made in 'Nam for hours (ie. take one peice of land 20 times during one month and fall back 20 times rolleyes: )[/quote:bef35]
Tell that line of shit to all the boys that got off the bus from their 2nd tour and got spit in the face by some peice of shit liberal hippie. No sympathy for the stupid and weak.

so why exactly were they hippies?
maybe they were communists or just anti-american.
I consider myself liberal and always respect our fighting men (and women) so STFU with the generalizations.
By my history teacher's definition a "hippy" is one of a group of people that dressed and acted radically differently from what was the established norm.

so why do you like George W. (I skipped out of 'Nam with a cushy ANG assignment and can't pronounce "nuclear") Bush
