I just read over at AA.net general discussion forum how to enable true 3D surround sound by changing the drivers, I have tried it. Man it is awesome much better & no slow down, go over and have a look under the subject that I have put this under.
Use the EAX 2 driver its the best!!!

Try this link instead. It's probably the same info:

I had trouble with the EAX drivers. It lagged MOH at times, and the sound of the SMG was really weird at times. Give it a try...

I tried it and some of the sounds would drop to barely audible levels while the other sounds worked just fine. This was with an Audigy.

I went back to the Miles 2D Positional Audio drivers.

Tried the Eax2 and Dolby Surround (I pump my SB Live into an Onkyo Pro-logic receiver). Went back to the default Miles surround driver. The others caused various, odd audio anomalies. Also seemed to lag more.
