No SRV? SRV is 1000000x better than page, and clapton combined. Hendrix is a different story. Id say SRV and hendrix have around the same amount of talent, just different styles

theres one guitarist everyone forgets, who's one of my favourites, and one of the main reasons i started playing guitar about 7yrs ago. his solos on the show must go one are some of my favourites of any song. and he's probably the only person to ever play the national anthem on guitar while standing on the roof of buckingham palace:

my favourite guitarists in order are:
adrian smith and dave murray (saw these with the rest of IM about 2 months ago at the NEC):

steve vai:

randy rhoads:

plus satch, janick gers, iommi (another reason i started playing guitar), malmsteen, aswell as eric johnson, paul gilbert and roy z
guitarists i dont like are hendrix (i know he was a great guitarist, but i dont like him) and hammett (possibly the most overrated metal guitarist in history)

My old guitar teacher, maybe not the most talent ever, but the best all around package, heh that guys was so funny. biggrin:
I would say John Fahey, that guy was awsome. Even if you do not like that type of music you have to give that guy some credit.

Actually, now that I think of it, the best guitar player I've ever been in the same room with was my friend from University, Casey.
Man, that dude was a freak of nature. He'd sit down and play the solo from "Mr. Crowley" and chat with you like he wasn't playing at all. A total phenom.
He recorded awesome cover tunes on his 4-track too. He did a sweet version of "Bloodsucker" by Deep Purple. My fave from him was "2000 Man"...he nailed Ace Frehley's licks and vocals.
