Type "status" (without the quotes) in the console it should come up with a list of people that are playing on yer server. should look like this

0 name
1 name
2 name

find the number beside the persons name (or in yer case, no name)
then type in the console "clientkick #" minus the quotes

that should work.

but wouldnt it be easier to use the cvars to set maxping 300 ...so anyone with higher ping gets booted or not aloud to join at all.

First: AMEN to HANDGRENADE. YOU DA MAN.
Second: the sv_maxping cvar doesn't kick people off with high pings. It only limits who can join.
Third: Apparently throughput varies across regions. In our area, cable connection on average provides a 1.3mps down and 300kbps up. Dsl is significantly lower. ISDN is difficult to get.
just my 2cents

I agree with handgrenade.
It isnt fair to have a sudden ban on 56kers
i very often finished 1st 2nd or top 5 in DoD and Delta force 2 & 3
2015 and EA should have good dedicated servers like delta force.
Not everyone can afford to have something ISDN, but doesnt mean they should suddenly be barred from playing MP.

I have to ask though, is it possible to get a 128kb modem? and could i use it with the phoneline i have right now? would it make any difference? ive never found a 128k modem so dunno if they even exsist, but if they do, prices and shops would be handy. im in UK, so dont direct me to my nearest wallmart:P

I wouldn't think kicking someone "just because" they have a 56k is neccessary.

BUT, when I used a 56k(way back in '97), I only played on servers where I pinged 250 or less. And I pinged that low or sometimes even in the high 100's (180 or so). I had a kickazz connection for a modem, always connected at 42000, sometimes 44000.

Its just common sense modemers, why the hell would anyone want to play somewhere where they had a 300 ping or higher? If you absolutely get no servers under 300 ping, then you need to call the phone company, check your line for noise, tweak or whatever you need to do cause your connection it shite.

Would I kick someone with over a 300 ping? Yup. Better yet, the idea with just capping it at 300 or below sounds like the best way to go. I will definately implement that when I get my part-time ded server running again.

People can get used to leading targets and be as good as low ping people (i do about the same now that i am on dsl with pings 40-150 as i did on the 56k with pings 170 - 340). Also - most of the time - the people with pings between 150 - 400 cause NO extra lag on the server.

Ok...the topic is getting a lil off..

I didnt mean anything towards the 56k guys..And i hope they resolve this netcode problem.
I have used the sv_maxping command and it sems to work. I cant get this clientkick # command to work though..I see their ip , name and player number{ i.e 1-10} but it doesnt work. What would really help me here is how the heck do I remove someone from the server who has a space betwwen their player name?
