thats a very good point there. most people don't even know how to use the weapons.
and they get pissed when you kill em with a rifle when they are using the shotty.
plus another thing is newbies don't know the importance of picking up health ever chance you get, especially in the middle of a firefight.

The hardest weapon to use well is probably the KAR98 rifle. Not the sniper rifle. Why? It has no scope, the same number of loaded bullets(5), and is only slightly faster reloaded. But I'll tell you, killing guys with the regular rifles is probably the most satisfying kill in the game. They're great middle of the road weapons. Not great at long range, and not great at short range. But if you're in a shootout with a guy across the street with a SMG, you'll probably win.

how can u even compare the two? Apples and oranges IMO. One ownz at close range and the other at long range. Vice versa they both suck. Just my opinion though...

shotgun is really easy weapon to use.
the developers have made the shotgun too powerful, they've put it to shoot like 20 or so pellets, when in fact it only shoots 8-12, depending.

so, you can just run and literally SPRAY with the shotgun, it is really easy weapon to use. only downside is that it doesn't work very effectivily from longer distances.

sniping on the other hand, is also quite easy WHEN YOU KNOW how to do it!
in the hands of a really skilled sniper, whining occurs very often. but the newbies cannot even snipe correctly, yet everyone can use shotgun effectivily.

sniping is a form of art in MOHAA, shotgun's just too powerful.
YET, I would like to see sniping become more difficult, because when you know how to do it, it is very powerful. but knowing how to snipe fast/accurately/and without letting people see yourself, is not obvious to everyone.

Oh, please! That's just the kind of superior sniper attitude I have mentioned. Sniper is superior on some maps, inferior on others. Same goes for shotgun. Shotgun doesn't take much skill to aim. The skill is in getting close to your target alive. Sniper does not take much skill to point and click your mouse. You don't have to worry about gravity or wind, etc. Get real!

i try to use every weapon each time i play.
cept for the damn rocket launcher.
you have to play each type of weapon of otherwise if you use the mg too much you won't know how and where the snipers do their shit. you have to put yourself in your enemies shoes.

Anyone can use the shotgun effectively, can they?

You need to see some of the players I've watched in Spec mode when they use shotgun and aren't good players.

It's hilarious to watch them continually miss, even at close range. It's even more funny to watch them try to shoot at someone miles away.

I've been in close combat with a shotgun user a few times and they've taken the entire 5 shells to take me down, with no health packs (and that's assuming they actually managed to take me down at all).

Then again those self same players have probably gotten me in one shot 'cos I turned a corner and they were looking right at me.

Annoying, but so what?

It was my fault for getting that close and not being careful.

The shotgun does not bestow some God-given skill to the player. In close combat it's easier to kill faster with it. That's it.

You do have to aim it, 'cos if you don't you won't bloody hit at all and I've seen that happen on many occasions.

I've seen players who are very good at using the shotgun and they do tend to get lots of kills. So what if they don't use any other weapons? Jesus, it's a game and they enjoy using the shotgun.

No one is ever happy unless someone uses the same gun as them. How boring would the game be if that happened? Are you seriously suggesting that you'd enjoy a game where every gun had the same effectiveness at the same ranges and they all had the same spread?

Variety is the spice of life and that is no less relevant in a game.

The statement that anyone can be good with the shotgun is just plain retarded, sorry. You can't be that skillful yourself if your enemy's skill level is closer to yours just because they use the shotgun.

This whole disscusion weather shotgun or sniper rifle is better its up to what you think is good. It also depends on what map your playing. Take Amargen, im good there with the shootgun, but i stink with SnipeR. Omaha, Destroyd village is two good snipe stages. So you choose weapon due to the map. I prefer shootgun, but ill admit its easier with shootgun then sniper rifle. One thing that also helps is to use tactics, never stay at the same place, lure ppl into ambushes. The fishook is one good, if you have someone after you, run around a corner, then turn around and run back, most of the times they r not prepeard

It all depends on who has what gun. I great sniper vs a bad shotty or a great shooty vs a bad sniper the better man always wins.

Using the shotgun is all about reflex action, takes fast reflexes. Using the sniper rifle takes alot o dexterity mroe than reflex. Theyre two different worlds apart.
