To see what people agree or disagree on, what would you like to see improved or fixed in the multiplayer side of the game??

ban rockets?
add realistic swaying sniper aim?
cheaters banned for life?
modify shotgun fire or effectiveness?
medics?

rockets shouldnt be banned, but they should be limited, and damage to the guy who shot it should be the same as the guy receiving at point blank range. ive tested this. fire rocket at the ground at full health youll have 5 health, yet if you hit someone with it at 100 health they will die.

swaying sniper aim would be interesting and get rid of snipers with no patience (as it should be). could have more swaying standing up, and little crouching. also, time to bring the scope up to your eye, something as little as 2-3 seconds gets rid of the guys that bring it up and fire a quick shot while running. also, make the sway huge when youre running.

as for cheaters, simply make a permaban feature.

the firing rate on the shotgun is a little fast. ive tested this. you can fire again before the gun is aiming at the target (still pointed upwards) and i believe someone said the unmodded version has 20 pellets, when the real version only has 12. i believe that was corrected in a realism mod

as for medics, maybe if they put in a class system.

Hey Werner, Quake and Counterstrike are two *entirely* different worlds with different play styles, different players and different game mechanics. Lumping the two together is like lumping together, say, Outrun fans and Legends Of Grand Prix fans, or J.R.R. Tolkien fans and Piers Anthony fans.

The worlds of Quake and Counterstrike, while there is certainly some crossover, are seperate beings in almost every way. About all they have in common are guns and a first-person viewpoint.

Just get a kit released to help develop mods and maps.

We can figure out the rest by ourself....who ever beta tested this missed some major flaws.

...and foul-mouted brats. When I have challenged some of the worst offenders online they mention their backgrounds (as some sort of evidence they're more "legit" than me) and CS and Quake are the two most popular responses.

I don't have enough time to join a clan but I do like realistic, "historical" online play. It seems people like that are doomed to an online environment dominated by these little punks. I have tried over twenty different servers in the past weekend alone, and not one, not ONE was free of this scourge.

Online I've played MMRPGs like Everquest, twitch shooters like Quake and Unreal Tournament, and more realism-based shooters like Counterstrike and Delta Force, along with RTSs like Red Alert and Startcraft, and you know what?

They are *all* filled with foul-mouthed, spiled little brats who have never worked a day in their life and whose parents never taught them manners.

It's not the games, my friend, it is the nature of the Internet. This message board is filled with such twits. Usenet is loaded with them. IRC is engorged with them. And every single multi-player game you play online, bar none, will have its fair share.

That's the 'Net.

You're right, its just such a damn shame, that's all. I've found that in general flight sims are a little better that way, the communities tend to be older on average, but even that doesn't guarantee one immunity from such things.

Cheers Shoe.

Rockets kind of annoy me a bit since there are no tanks or walls with damage modeling, but my major gripe is the ease of of the sniper weapon. I agree that it is an integral part of the game, but it need to be made harder to use. Its is one of the easest weapons to use.

-You should not be able to shoot it propperly unless you take the time (note..time) to aim it propperly. ie..scope.

-If you do shoot without the scope, you should have quite a large margin of error aiming.
Double if someone is walking or strafing
Quadruple if they are running.
Impossble if they are jumping.

-Scope fade (delay) to simulate positioning.

-Scope sway (not too much, but enough to make it difficult across the level, as it should be)

This way you dont have to worry about reload times, that would be taken care of by the sniper needing time to aim propperly

The power of the weapon should be justifed by the risk of the time it takes to aim it. How many snipers just walked around the street?
