First try it went to 6%, and then had a "catastrophic error". Then on 2nd try, went to 10% and the same thing. I've deleted the game folder, start menu group and registry entries too. any ideas?

Try to close as much problems as possible, including anti virus and other programs running in the background.

Well it isn't just a Windows XP problem. Alot of people have had trouble loading the game. A good friend of mine had this problem too. He said the CD looked "clean" no smudges or scratches, but kept getting an error message trying to load. So he ran his CD's on a Compact Disc cleaner. And tried it again. It then installed just fine. Maybe try this and see if it helps.

What are your system specs???
I run MOHAA with no problems on XP-pro so it has to be something else.

Listen FLAPJACK, it doesn't matter his system specs - he'd be able to install the game either way. It's after that would be the problem. You may as well stop spreading this useless advice CRANBERRY.

However, I'd suggest returning the CD for another one, instead of getting the hassle of CLEANING it and so forth.

Although, if it is a cd problem, you can always extract the contents from the CD, and install that way - then grab the nocd crack from GAMECOPYWORLD.com.

Either way, I dont care - I've LONG had mine.

Sweet dreams.

Clean Windows XP install dual boot w/ win98se --all windows updates installed.

I just though that I do have Norton Anti Virus running in the tray--I'll try disabling and see what happens.

Yes it does matter, moron
What if his CPU was the problem?
What if it was a problem with his CDROM, HD, ect?

You flame my posts for no reason Cerebral, and I am almost at the point of reporting you to an admin.

Consider this my ultimatum to you.

Lord. I'm doing this entire board a service, by shooting down the FLAP comin from all corners of the world. If that means that I have to step all over your useless advice - then so be it. I'm not gonna have some gamer get all flecked over with some bad advice.

Now, and I stand by this, it is HIGHLY unlikely that his CPU wont allow him to install the game - along with his CD-ROM as it would stand to reason this isn't his first bloody install. So, lets not drag the youngun down your slippery road to nowhere.
