The thing is, will MOH survive for as long as...say, counter-strike. Theoretically MOH is a mod for Q3, well it is using it's engine right? But Look at how long half-life lasted for...in fact people still play cs. My point is do you people think that MODS will keep this game alive?

if moh is a mod for quake3, then that means half-life is a mod for quake1.

Man, i said in theory. We all know they're stand alone games using either the same or more advanced engine.

You're sort of right.
If Medal of Honor was a "mod" for Quake 3 you would actually "Need" quake 3.It's actually just an all new game using the Q3 Engine.
Secondly, MOHAA is much more ground breaking than counterstrike, and has much more potential than Half-life at becoming the next Massively Moddable First person Shooter.

stupid question, oh course mohaa will survive, 2-3 years good I say or more, look at the millions of Medal of honor, and if mohaa doesn't its add-ons will.
look at age of empires, people love that game and still play it, theres like 4 games for it and thousands still play it and its like 5 years old.

I think a game falls or stands by the MOD community. If there is enough support from EA and 2015. Then there will be a mod wich will satisfy any gamer and makes the game hold for a while

I think if this game and its community keep up the mod support and make more maps then it will have a good run, but remember alot of newer FPS's are comming out soon UT 2 Doom3 Duke Nukem, So if MOH wants to make it in the long run they need to 1. release the SDK, and 2. sometime in tha future come out with a SP expantion, mabee including more weapons from other armed forces of the time, and incorporating other theatres of the war, Eastern front (That would be awesome), and mabee the pacific. I am sure someone will come up with a mod for MP but if they could make another SP campaign it would be awesome and show that EA is serious about tha game. But only time will tell!

Right !
Mods are one thing,...
Add-ons are also very important. They can double the life of a game : think about Diablo II --> Diablo II LoD,
AOK -- > AOK Exp Conquerors, ...

YES, that's it : maps !
Have the creators promised something ?
And if THEY do nothing, is it possible to make maps by ourself, I mean with a kind of map-editor ?

Do you really think that MOH will not survive? Think about it, it is set in WW2, you are fighting alongside buddies in the trenches and the beaches and they die like flies alongside you. They talk to you, cry with you. The Germans gets it in the end but it is a tough battle that you will never forget...
Now, did the game not create the same feeling as the war? We will have memories of both for ever, and that means it will live forever!
