you will have to open certain ports for the router and make sure your firewalls are turned off - try http://www.mohadmin.com

When I was learning how to run a moh server years ago I used that prog and had the same problem.

Your best bet is to simply run a server with a cfg file and not mess with those 3rd party progs.

http://www.mohadmin.com is THE place for server admins.

UPDATE : I did the tutorial and it works fine. I just click the icon and my server starts up. Now i just need to know how to do the router part. I have a wireless D Link router because its blocking the connection to my server so everytime someone trys to join my server it says timed out. I went into all seeing eye and typed in my servers ip and i didn't get any signal from my server so i know that its not that my internet sucks.. If you can would someone plz give me a direct link to a tutorial to do this. Thanks fire2:

If you would look [url=http://www.mohadmin.com/2004light/index.php?id=15:76592]here[/url:76592] you will find the port guide that you need. You will need to read the documentation that came with your router to find out how to set it up on your network.

If this is in your cfg file you are not running a LAN server:
[code:43876]sv_gamespy 1[/code:43876]

To open ports on a D-link you have to add rules to the firewall section. Do you know how to get to that section of the d-link software inside the router?

well i added the sv_gamespy 1 and now people can get in.Now im having trouble setting the name of my server. This is what i have sv_hostname "Quicksilvers server". But it seems to not work. My server also lags from time to time. Maybe like every minute or so it lags for 3 seconds, what could that be? I would say its sort of randomly generated.

1) try seta sv_hostname "Quicksilvers server"

2) give us your system specs and internet connection.

Yep...sounds like you have too many clients for the amount of bandwidth your connection has.
