Cool.
Don't be surprised if the peanut gallery around here are harsh toward your initial work. Just have a thick skin and weed out the crap posts...there are usually a few who legitimately like to help.

First thing I notice is the lack of blending between the two images. Try taking a fairly large brush eraser (say 100px) that has a soft edge and erase some of the black & white image's edge. That would bring the two images together.
Secondly, the black & white doesn't really mesh with the colour well. Again, this may have to do with the lack of blending, but try desaturating both images, then recolorizing them to the same hue. You can also try duplicating the image layers and changing their blending to something like Color Dodge or Overlay. Tinkering around is the best method.
Lastly, the text is kinda plain, but it's better than huge bevels and horrible outer glows. biggrin:
Keep at it. The only way to get better is to practice.

What profession are you in? Just keep working at it and looking at other peoples work to get ideas and see how it should be done. Read alot of tutorials on photoshop. THey help alot and make it easy to learn the program.

That sig sucks dude. Definatly just get rid of it, and just try again. I learned by myself, im not real good. But just mess around. When you find a few techniques you like, use them.
